Origo Teams Up With Beyond Encryption For Secure Email Launch

As seen on the New Model Adviser, Origo has teamed up with Beyond Encryption to offer 45,000 advisers a new email messaging system using Origo’s Unipass Identity system.

The new messaging system is designed to ensure emails between advisers, providers and platforms are sent securely, as well as only being opened by their intended recipient. It has been made available for users of Origo’s Unipass Identity, which allows for a single means of identification between advisers and providers.

The launch comes as the FCA has announced a focus on platforms’ cyber-security approach, with a Dear-CEO letter last month warning them they must ensure they are protected from cybercrime.

‘Protecting the assets and data of customers from the threat posed by cyber-attacks and financial crime is also a growing concern. We expect accountable individuals under the SM&CR to be responsible for operational resilience, prioritising plans and investment choices based on their wider potential impact,’ the FCA warned.

Anthony Rafferty, managing director of Origo, said: “Cybercrime is increasingly a threat to businesses and their clients with criminals actively using technology to target unsecured emails and access sensitive and valuable information.”

“Unipass Mailock enables advisers and providers to quickly adopt the service into their email processes, enabling them to securely communicate sensitive personal, financial, medical or policy information to their clients efficiently and securely safe in the knowledge that only the intended recipient can read and reply to the message.”

Paul Holland, Beyond Encryption’s chief executive, said: “Origo’s reach through Unipass, and its industry-critical services means a large percentage of providers, platforms, advisers and their clients can quickly be protected when communicating sensitive information. This will help to protect reputations and de-risk the industry’s communications.”
