Chancellor Announces £1.9 billion cyber crime defense boost package

The chancellor, Philip Hammond, today announced a £1.9 billion package to help bolster the UK’s defences against the growing threat of cyber-attacks, close to double that put aside in 2011’s Cyber Security Strategy.

The poor security of legacy systems is thought to be behind this response to growing security issues.
