How do I install the Mailock Outlook Add-in?

If you're a Business Premium user and have Outlook running on Windows you can enjoy the full Mailock experience from within Outlook itself. You need to be running Outlook 2010 or later (Office 365 users require the desktop version of Outlook) and Windows 7 or higher. You’ll need to install our Outlook Add-in, which can be found here. Click on the ‘Download for Outlook’ button to start things off.

There will be a message to say we need Outlook closed to do the install so tidy up any open emails and shutdown Outlook before clicking on the OK button.

Downloads are handled differently depending on which browser you’re using. If you’re having trouble get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.

Open your downloaded file to start the installer. From there you just need to read and agree to the license agreement and click the ‘Install’ button.

Depending on how your Windows is set up you may get a ‘User Access Control’ screen displayed confirming if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device (the message may change slightly depending on your version of Windows). Click on ‘Yes’.

Once the installation is complete just click on the ‘Close’ button, open Outlook and you’ll see a new ‘Compose New Secure Email’ button and Mailock menu:

If you’re having issues along the way, usually with downloading or running the installer, then it’s most likely because you don’t have the right permissions to do it. Get in touch with your IT people and ask for their help.
