My Outlook Add-in isn't displaying correctly

There is an intermittent issue affecting users of our Outlook Add-in, where windows may not be displayed correctly, for example:

Add-in window missing details

This is linked to an Outlook update (build 11727) which has led to the problem. It's possible to get the windows to show as they should with the following steps:

  • Open Outlook, click on File followed by Options
  • On the Outlook Options screen, click on General on the left, then find "General options for working with Outlook"
  • Under "User Interface options", click on "Optimize for compatibility (application restart required)", followed by OK
