Two held for ‘hacking’ into Italy ex-PM Renzi emails

As if regulators (FCA), budding US presidents (Hilary Clinton), email providers (Yahoo) and Telecom giants (Talk Talk) weren’t enough!!!!

The BBC have published information regarding alleged email hacks that again affect tens of thousands of email accounts including those of the Euro Central Bank and the former Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi.

Whilst the reported culprits are London based and Rome domicile, the majority of affected data is reported to be US patriated, raising further visibility as to the question of data control and sovereignty.

This latest coverage adds further weight to the impending GDPR legislation, effective from 25th May 2018, the regulatory framework that will require business data ‘controllers’ and ‘processors’  to comply with far reaching data obligations.
