Creating an account

You can read a message you've been sent using Mailock as a guest, no registration required.

Signing up for a free account, though, comes with a number of benefits:

  • you'll be able to reply securely to the sender
  • once you've confirmed your identity, by answering the challenge question you get when reading a message, it is recorded in your account so you won't be asked again (unless the sender decides to)
  • you'll only need to verify your email address once, as this is also recorded in your account

We won't send you any marketing (unless, of course, you opt in to receive it) - your details are only used by Mailock for the delivery of secure messages.

You can sign up when reading a secure message - just click on the Reply button button and follow the instructions (the exact steps vary depending on how you read your message - find out more here.

Alternatively, go to our secure site, click on ‘Sign up (Free)’ and you'll see the following:

Complete the fields, tick the box (once you’ve read and are happy with the policies), and click on ‘Sign up’ - your account is created!

Tip Remember to choose a hard to guess password so that your emails are kept secure. It has to be at least 8 characters long and contain at least 3 of the following:
  • lower case letters (a-z)
  • upper case letters (A – Z)
  • numbers (0 – 9)
  • special characters (e.g. !@#$%^&*)

The only thing left to do before you can read secure emails with your new account is to verify your email address. You'll be guided through next time you try to read, or send, a message or click here to see how to do it now.

If you want to be able to compose new emails, rather than just read and reply, then a premium account may be what you need. More details can be found here.
