Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Organisation structure, business and supply chains
Beyond Encryption Ltd is a UK-registered technology company providing secure digital communications, identity-based messaging, and data protection services to organisations operating in regulated sectors, including financial services, legal services, utilities, and the public sector.
The company operates primarily within the UK and employs a professional workforce engaged in software development, cloud operations, customer support, sales, and corporate functions. Beyond Encryption Ltd does not undertake manufacturing or labour-intensive activities.
Our supply chains are limited in scope and consist primarily of:
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers
- Software and technology vendors
- Professional services providers (legal, accounting, compliance, consultancy)
- Business support services
We do not operate complex, multi-tier global supply chains and do not source physical goods associated with higher modern slavery risk.
Policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking
Beyond Encryption Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of its business and supply chains and acts in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our commitment is supported by the following policies and governance arrangements:
- Code of Conduct
- Ethical Procurement and Supplier Due Diligence Procedures
- Whistleblowing Policy
- Risk Management Framework (aligned to ISO 27001)
These policies set expectations for ethical behaviour, lawful employment practices, and responsible supplier conduct.
Due diligence processes
Beyond Encryption applies a risk-based approach to due diligence in relation to modern slavery. This includes:
- Assessing suppliers during onboarding based on geography, service type, and delivery model
- Prioritising UK-based and reputable suppliers where possible
- Seeking assurance that suppliers comply with applicable employment, labour, and human rights laws
- Including contractual provisions requiring lawful and ethical conduct where appropriate
Supplier relationships are reviewed periodically, and additional checks are undertaken if there are changes in supplier scope, location, or risk profile.
Risk areas and steps taken to manage risk
Due to the nature of our business and supply chains, Beyond Encryption considers the overall risk of modern slavery and human trafficking to be low.
Potential risk areas may include:
- Overseas technology or cloud service providers
- Third-party contractors used by suppliers
To assess and manage these risks, we:
- Limit the use of suppliers operating in higher-risk jurisdictions
- Prefer suppliers with established compliance and governance frameworks
- Apply enhanced scrutiny where higher-risk indicators are identified
- Maintain the ability to terminate supplier relationships where ethical standards are not met.
Effectiveness and performance indicators
Beyond Encryption measures the effectiveness of its approach through:
- Ongoing supplier review and oversight
- Absence of reported modern slavery incidents within our business or supply chains
- Compliance with recognised governance and security standards, including ISO 27001
- Internal risk reviews and management reporting
To date, no instances of modern slavery or human trafficking have been identified within our operations or supply chains.
Training and capacity building
Staff are made aware of:
- Ethical business practices
- The risks of modern slavery and human trafficking
- How to raise concerns through appropriate internal channels
Awareness of modern slavery risks is incorporated into broader governance, compliance, and risk management activities, particularly for staff involved in supplier engagement and procurement.
