In October 2025, Beyond Encryption announced a strategic partnership with financial education charity Money Ready to advance its data permissioning platform, Nigel.
Nigel is Beyond Encryption's AI-powered Smart Data agent, designed to help people cut through the noise of everyday life admin.
The company was recently named one of ten finalists in the UK Department for Business and Trade's Smart Data Prize, adding momentum to its work on secure digital communication and permissioned data sharing.

The Money Ready partnership combines that Smart Data work with expert-led financial education for consumers who need clearer money decisions at the point of need.
Smart Data Prize Finalist
Beyond Encryption was named one of ten finalists in the UK Department for Business and Trade Smart Data Prize before announcing the Money Ready partnership.
Together, Beyond Encryption and Money Ready want people to access financial information safely, understand what it means, and use it to build long-term resilience.
By embedding Money Ready's expertise within Nigel's financial education content and smart data infrastructure, the partnership aims to deliver safer, more transparent, and more supportive digital experiences.
Consumers facing financial exclusion, vulnerable groups, and young people stand to gain information and guidance when it matters, including support aligned with Money Ready's work with more than 50,000 young people and adults across the UK each year.
"Through this partnership with Beyond Encryption, our organisations are helping people access their financial information and understand it. By weaving financial education into digital tools like Nigel, we can make money feel less complicated and more empowering. Together, we're building people's confidence to make informed choices, stay in control, and create a financially fluent population where no one is left behind."
Claire Quigley, Deputy CEO, Money Ready
Money Ready brings classroom and community delivery experience into Nigel's permissioned data journey, where financial education needs to meet people in the tool they already use.
"Nigel was built to give people meaningful control over their data. Our partnership with Money Ready strengthens that mission, combining secure data access with focused financial education so consumers can understand permissioned data and act on it. This is about addressing vulnerability, promoting inclusion, and driving lasting financial wellbeing. It shows how shared values and practical Smart Data design can deliver change in the Smart Data economy."
Paul Holland, Founder and CEO, Beyond Encryption (Mailock)
Money Ready programmes already reach schools, charities, and community groups, giving Nigel a practical route into delivered financial education.
"This partnership brings Money Ready's delivery reach into Nigel's permissioned data model. For us, the work is making financial education show up inside the Smart Data journey people already rely on, at the point where permissioned data becomes useful."
Adam Byford, COO, Beyond Encryption (Mailock)
Further context on the organisations and the Smart Data Challenge Prize programme follows.
The Smart Data Challenge Prize is funded by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and delivered by Challenge Works and delivery partners, including the Open Data Institute (ODI), Big Spark and NayaOne.

About Money Ready
Money Ready is a financial education charity dedicated to creating a financially fluent population.
They believe that financial literacy should be considered a right for all because the language of money is a language for life. Everyone needs to be able to manage their money. Yet almost two-thirds of young adults do not recall receiving any financial education at all, and 53 per cent are worried that they will never be financially secure. Poor financial literacy is central to many problems people face today, including rising mental health issues, homelessness and unemployment.
Money Ready aims to bridge this gap, working with over 50,000 young people and adults across the UK every year, delivering expert-led, high-impact financial education programmes on topics such as saving, debt and student finance. They want to bring the language of finance to life so that everyone can navigate their money with confidence, no matter where they started.
