Portrait of Paul Holland, Founder and CEO of Beyond Encryption

Founder & CEO, Beyond Encryption

Paul Holland is a technology entrepreneur focused on secure communications, digital identity, and building practical tools that make digital engagement safer and easier.

Paul has spent more than 30 years working across technology and financial services. He founded Webline in 1995, helping to build one of the UK’s early online comparison engines for the insurance and investment market, before the business was acquired by Capita.

He later founded All My Plans, which became part of Runpath Digital and was ultimately acquired by Experian. Across those ventures, Paul built deep experience in consumer engagement, data-driven services, and the realities of digital transformation in regulated markets.

Beyond Encryption grew out of that experience. Having seen how weak communication security, inefficient processes, and poor customer journeys created risk for both firms and consumers, Paul set out to build technology that could improve how sensitive information is shared, protected, and trusted online.

Today, he leads Beyond Encryption - the company behind Mailock - and also helps shape wider innovation in digital identity and trusted data exchange through Nigel and AssureScore. His focus remains on creating technology that puts the end user first, reduces unnecessary friction, and supports more confident digital communication.
